The Forum for Democratic Change Party President, Patrick Amuriat, has sharply attacked the Nation media-owned Daily Monitor, accusing it of constantly publishing fake news.

Eng. Oboi, while addressing a press briefing on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at the FDC party headquarters in Najjanankumbi, faulted the Daily Monitor for repeatedly publishing false news articles about FDC affairs.

According to Amuriat, the newspaper that had previously been blamed for witch-hunting the ruling NRM government has in the recent past published several false stories that only serve to tarnish his reputation and the party.

He guided the Daily Monitor to adopt professional journalism practices and asked them to be aware of the negative impact of fake news.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is on record to have ever criticized the Daily Monitor for abandoning fake news articles and guided them to embrace professional journalists who promote the development of the country.
