Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda’s Katonga FDC faction, in a bid to counter the tribal narrative used by the Nandala’s faction, held a late-night meeting that went on past midnight at Ssemujju Nganda’s home in Kirinya, Kira Municipality. In the long meeting, some resolutions were made in preparation to counter other allegations made by the Nandala-led FDC Najjanakumbi faction.
According to Philip Polly Okin Ojara, Chua County Mp, after the consultative meeting at Nsambya and interfacing with some of the top FDC, leaders, it was established that in order to effectively count Nandala and Amuriat, there was a need to front strong opponents against them.
“Dr. Besigye advised that we should woo Ingrid Turinawe back, and some members present fronted Ssemujju for Presidency; we believe he can ably count Nandala since he has been a very active member of the party and won’t be doubted by our fellow FDC members like it is with Lukwago,” Okin said.
He further revealed that there was a proposal by Dr. Besigye to have internal primaries for the Katonga team to decide which position one should contest for since their key persons were colliding on similar positions.
However, Ssemujju disagreed with the suggestion and chose to call for the need to traverse the whole country while promoting their bid and patching holes in the Najjanakumbi faction.
