The leaders of the opposition National Unity Platform (NUP) party have disagreed sharply after it emerged that Robert Kyagulanyi, aka Bobi Wine, has fronted his long-time girlfriend (sexual partner) Mukankwaya Salim Tana Sultan as the official flagbearer in the upcoming Kisoro district Woman MP by-election.
To make it worse, Bobi Wine did not consult top party leaders regarding the decision to endorse Tana, who had neither been common in NUP nor the entire opposition circles.
This website has exclusively unearthed classified records of transactions and intimate engagements between Tana and Kyagulanyi, whose decision has since sparked a heated disagreement among the party leaders.
According to a source, Kyagulanyi met with Tana shortly after the 2021 general elections and has since then been feasting on her intimate packages.
Lewis Rubongoya, the Secretary General of NUP, reportedly had an extensive discussion with MP Francis Zaake on Monday night, questioning why their leader this time acted as if he had been possessed.
Uzabakiriho Viatori, the former NUP parliamentary candidate for Bufumbira South, said as the party leaders on the ground, they are concerned about Bobi’s decision to front Tana without consulting them.
“Her endorsement of Tana as the NUP party flagbearer has left many top NUP leaders tight-lipped after they were deliberately sidelined. The lady is only known to a few of Bobi Wine’s confidants,” said Viatori.
Viatori said: “We cannot keep serving party tickets from the bedroom; there are systems to use for decision-making. It’s very undemocratic to use our party flag to reward your girlfriends for the unseen services rendered to you as an individual.”
NUP’s Women League leader, Flavia Kalule Nabagabe, also questioned Kyagulanyi’s tight affairs with Tana, and according to our source, Wine’s wife, Barbie Itungo, is already disturbed and concerned since she knows her husband’s unquenchable appetite for lip-smacking Rwandese look-like babies.
Doreen Imaniragaba, a boutique operator in Muyenga who hails from Kisoro, revealed that Tana also has a tight affair with the company of the Ghanaian Honorary Consul to Kampala, Kwame Ejalu.
She has also ever been seen around the Munyonyo area cruising in different vehicles bearing Country Diplomat (CD) number plates.
Tana’s loyalty and support for the party are also being questioned by the aggrieved leaders, who say she’s likely to be one of the state agents planted by the regime to weaken NUP and Bobi Wine.
