πŸ“ŒThe Ministry of Health is rolling out a digital tool to address chronic absenteeism, theft of drugs and to improve efficiency in service delivery. This was revealed during the launch of the Uganda Health Information and Digital Health Strategic Plan for the financial year 2020/2021 to 2024/2025. Dr Sarah Byakika, the Commissioner for Planning at the Health Ministry said that the goal of this 5-year strategic plan is to improve data collection and use it for evidence-based decision making.

πŸ“ŒSecurity has cracked down a notorious criminal gang that has been robbing cars in Kampala City. Police spokesperson Fred Enanga said the criminal gang had a garage in Iganga town where they would dismantle and alter the chassis and registration number plates of stolen cars.
β€œThe operatives recovered nine suspected stolen motor vehicles and also arrested nine suspects, who form part of a wider criminal gang, behind such aggravated robberies of motor vehicles in the capital,” said Enanga.

πŸ“Œ Police are hunting for a TikToker who recently uploaded a video of himself engaging in indecent sexual acts with a minor. Police spokesperson, Fred Enanga has identified the suspect as Joseph whom he says recorded himself indecently assaulting an underage girl.
β€œWe have our cybercrime unit that is reviewing that footage on TikTok so that we can have it well transcribed. We have also started an investigation with the view of tracing that young girl.” Enanga said.

πŸ“ŒUgandan goods passing via the port of Mombasa now have 15 prior days of free storage. According to a document issued by Mr. William K. Ruto, Managing Director of the Kenya Ports Authority, the days have been extended from merely nine and commodities travelling via the Embakasi and Naivasha inland container depots (ICDs) will receive 15 and 30 days, respectively, of free storage.

πŸ“ŒSenegalese Court has handed opposition figure Ousmane Sonko aΒ  six month suspended sentence in an appeal of a defamation case that could jeopardise his run for president next year. Sonko, 48, came third in the 2019 presidential election and intends to stand again in 2024. He received a 2-month suspended sentence and a hefty fine in March for defaming Tourism Minister Mame Mbaye Niang. A Dakar Appeals Court on Monday increased the term to 6 months, potentially making Sonko ineligible for the vote.
