πΊπ¬ President Museveni to take wealth creation gospel to West Nile
πPresident Yoweri Museveni is scheduled to tour West Nile Sub region next month in April where he will hold meetings with over 1500 local leaders and address rallies to discuss the implementation of government programs in the region. According to the letter written by the Vice President H.E Jesca Alupo dated March 23, the Presidentβs tour is scheduled for April 11 to 13 under the theme, Securing your Future through Wealth Creation and Shared Prosperity.

The district seeks to restore all wetlands.

πThe Uganda Development Bank in partnership with food and agricultural organisations of the United Nations and Ensibuuko-Uganda have unveiled the first ever digital agricultural loan dubbed AgriConnect for saving groups to farmers in the West Nile. Speaking at the launch on Monday, Patricia Ojangole, the Managing Director at Uganda Development Bank said this program aims at disseminating credit to those underserved by banks most of whom work and rely on their village savings and loan schemes.

πThe Headteacher of Bubukwanga Primary School in Bundibugyo District, Bwabusa Edison, 54 has been arrested for luring a female pupil to his office where he seduced her by touching her body parts inappropriately. He promised to give her a new uniform and a bursary. The minor reported to the senior woman teacher who reported to the Police. The Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga calls upon parents to teach their children resisting skills by being assertive and to report such people.
πΊπ¬ KAPCHORWA: Police arrests man for sodomising 8- year old boy
πPolice has confirmed that they have in custody a suspect who is alleged to have sodomised an 8-year-old boy and raptured his rectum in Kapchorwa Municipality. The Sipi regional spokesperson, Fredmark Chesang identified the suspect as Kiplagat Ronnie, 28, who waylaid the minor in Barawa Ward. Kiplagat is currently detained at Kapchorwa CPS.

πPolice in Wakiso is investigating circumstances under which Gatabenza Joyce, a resident of Mbunga village in Mende parish,Β Mende sub county was murdered over the weekend. The village chairperson, Bishasho Geoffrey alleged that he is suspicious of Mugerwa Simon, the husband to the deceased after he failed to report the matter to authorities on Saturday night until his neighbours found out the following day. The murder case was recorded at Bakka Police post for more investigations.

πLand wrangles between the Sabiny and the Pokot have left two people dead and others nursing woods in Kween, Karamoja sub region. The area Local council chairperson, Otai Nelson identified the deceased as Mutai Boniface and Kemei Abraham both residents of Ayirei village Korite parish who were shot by the Pokot. Area Police attributed the conflict to the historically unclear land boundaries between the two tribes.

πKalungu Resident District Commissioner, Paddy Kayondo has commended the Patriotism program for instilling nationalism among the young generation in Uganda. He made the remarks on Monday March 27 while presiding over the graduation of 491 students of Green Hill SS, Holy family S.S, Yesu Akwagala High School at Kyamulibwa Sub County headquarters. The ceremony was attended by among others the District Security Intelligence Officer, District Police Officer and officials from the National Patriotism Secretariat who conducted the training.

πA security guard in Bunagana town is nursing bullet wounds at St Francis Mutolere Hospital after being shot and injured by gunmen during a foiled robbery. According to Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman, Elly Maate, the gunmen allegedly stormed the home of Mr. Charles Serutozi, a businessman in Nango cell on Sunday night. They however, withdrew and fled the scene after family members made an alarm that attracted neighbours. During the scuffle, the assailants shot John Ndagije, the security guard at the gate.

πKenya will host the first ever Africa climate action summit in Nairobi from September 4-6. The Summit aims to rally the world to tackle climate challenges that the least emitting continent faces. Speaking at the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue where he was the keynote speaker, Ruto stressed the need for Africa to harness its vast renewable energy resources to drive economic growth and reduce the continentβs carbon footprint. President Ruto called for partnerships to accelerate renewable energy developments across Africa, emphasising the importance of socially and environmentally sound projects.
π African Union appeals for calm after Kenya protestsΒ
πThe African Union has appealed for calm and called for dialogue following opposition protests in Kenya that have turned violent and left three people dead since last week. In a statement, AU Chairperson Moussa Faki Mahamat urged stakeholders to exercise calm and engage in dialogue to address the differences. π Amnesty International accuses West of double standards
πAmnesty International has accused the West of double standards in dealing with crisis such as refugees and human rights. In its annual report, released on Tuesday, Amnesty accused the West of being βsoftβ in their approach to human rights in countries such as Saudi Arabia and Egypt. Amnesty International also denounced the different approach taken by western countries towards Ukrainian refugees and those from Syria and Afghanistan.
