πŸ“ŒPresident Museveni has flagged off the export of military consignments including military uniforms manufactured by NYTIL to Equatorial Guinea. The consignment included 5,400 cartons of army uniforms and accessories for the Equatorial Guinea army manufactured in Uganda. The items were first displayed to President Museveni before the Minister for Defence, Vincent Ssempijja officiated at the flagging off ceremony at Entebbe Air base. Uganda and Equatorial Guinea have been cooperating in different areas including the defence and security.

While officiating the function on Wednesday March 22, 2023, Lt Gen Charles Okidi, the Commander Air Force who represented the Chief of Defence Forces Gen Wilson Mbasu Mbadi commended the trainees for good discipline and resilience throughout the training. Okidi urged them to ensure safety and applauded them for providing air power during operations.

πŸ“Œ Gulu District staff have rejected the directive by their leadership to relocate from Gulu City to Awach Town Council, the seat of the district (Gulu).Β  This comes after a February 28 letter by the Chief Administrative Officer Ismael Ochengel requiring all district technical staff to relocate to Awach as they continue to lobby for more funds to complete the Shs8 billion district headquarters.
β€œI would rather remain in Gulu City where I am easily accessible by all the staff I work with than go and be redundant under mango trees in Awach”, says one of the senior officials at the district who preferred anonymity.
The Resident District Commissioner Charles Ichogor implored the staff to amicably relocate to the district’s new location (Awach) so that they use it as a lobbying tool for the Central Government to look into the matter and provide funds to complete the administrative block.

🌍 SOMALIA: Diarrhoea kills 17 people including children
πŸ“Œ An outbreak of acute Diarrhoea has killed seventeen people, including children, in Somalia’s southern region of Lower Jubba, an official confirmed on Wednesday.
The Deputy Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management of Jubbaland, Mohamed Osman Jemis, told reporters that the outbreak occurred in the Afmadow district and surrounding areas .
“The death toll now stands at 17, and many people, mainly children, are suffering from diarrhoea. The number of people suffering from it is increasing every day because the water wells have dried up and the drinking water has become contaminated, increasing the number of people suffering from the disease,” said Minister Mohamed Osman Jemis.
