Dr. Muge Replaces Kakungulu in New Prisons Force Changes

The Uganda Prisons Services (UPS) Commissioner General Dr. Johnson Byabashaija has announced new appointments, transfers and leave of officers at the service.

According to the announcement, Byabashaija has appointed Dr. George Muge, CP/ICT, Prisons Headquarters as Ag. Director, Corporate and Cooperation Affairs.

Muge takes over from Mr. Moses Wagabaza Kakungulu, ACGP whose contract appointment has expired.

Among other appointments, Mr. Hillary Bisanga is appointed Ag. Director, Human Resource Management taking over from David Asiimwe Ahimbisibwe whose contract also expired.

Mr. Elly Tumuramye, ACP/ STO (Service Transport Officer) as Ag. CP/LM, Peace Christine Babirye is to take charge of the ICT Department.

Henry Kidega, SP, O/C Bushenyi Prisons( Nyamushekyera) is transferred to Prisons Headquarters as STO. He hands over the station to Mr. Evans Rock Abio, SP, O/C Nakasongola Prisons, who is now transferred to Bushenyi Prisons as O/C.

Mr. Gerald Kubomu, SP, O/C Nebbi Prisons is transferred to Nakasongola Prisons O/C handing over to Ernest Turyomurugyendo, ASP, O/C Paidha Prisons, who is now transferred to Nebbi Prisons as O/C.

Patrick Epila, ASP, from leave is appointed Staff Officer at DPC Lira, and Samuel Omoding, ASP appointed Staff Officer Iganga Region at Iganga.

Mr. Priston Tibashoboka, ASP, Kampala Remand is transferred to Mid-East Region, Soroti as Staff Officer taking over from Max Otim Okalebo, ASP who proceeded on leave pending retirement.

Mr. Edwin Kanyesigye, ASP, prisons headquarters is transferred to Kampala Remand for duty.

Mr. Joseph Mungai, P.O.I, DO/C Mutufu Prisons appointed O/C of the same Prisons taking over from James Wataka, ASP, who is retired from service.

Ms. Harriet Gonza Nabwire, P.O.II, from leave is transferred to Kabonera Prisons as O/C taking over from Betty Nannozi Nakato, P.O.II, who proceeds on 90 days normal leave.

Julius Ochom,P.O.II, M/Bay Prisons is transferred to Paidha Prisons as Ag. O/C, and Richard Owor, P.O.II, Kasangati Prisons to Kitalya Mini-Max for duty.

“These orders take immediate effect unless otherwise stated. The Ag. Director/Administration is to facilitate officers’ movements without delay,” Byabashaija stated.
