The Resident District Commissioner of Dokolo, Babra Akech, has warned politicians to avoid divisive politics, segregation, and propaganda as Uganda approaches the 2026 general elections.
Akech made these remarks on April 17, 2025, during the launch of the construction an 8.6 km road in Ochero Village, Bata Sub-county, Dokolo district.
“I called upon all politicians for peaceful, democratic elections and urged voters not to be swayed by money or material goods, but to elect leaders with solid development agendas and proven capacity,”Akech said.
She also assured the public that the upcoming elections will be peaceful, transparent, and accountable.
Akech also called on NRM leaders, from grassroots to district level, to spread the message of the government’s achievements and development programs to the community.
Akech warned residents against actions that cause insecurity, such as drug abuse, alcohol misuse, and theft.
Akech furher addressed poor academic performance in Dokolo schools, emphasizing parental responsibility and threatening arrests for parents whose children skip school.
She also led the recovery of misused Parish Development Model (PDM) funds, vowing to prevent exploitation of the program by wealthy individuals and corrupt officials.
