The Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety has advised the public to take alternate routes as the road between Busega roundabout and Kyengera has partially sunk.

Michael Kananura, the traffic police spokesperson, revealed that the police and Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) engineers are working together to assess the damage.

Kananura advised motorists approaching Busega roundabout going to Masaka to use Nakawuka road at Natete traffic lights or Mityana road.

“The Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety informs the general public that the road between Busega roundabouts and Kyengera has partially sunk, and the traffic police, together with UNRA engineers, are assessing the damage,” Kananura reported.

Recently, Kampala Masaka High Way experienced temporal closure due to the collapse of the Katoga River Bridge. The road is now being used after UNRA restored it to normal use.
