National Unity Platform President Robert Kyagulanyi who is currently in USA meeting his funders has come under pressure after failing to account for the millions of dollars they donated to him in his bid to oust President Museveni.

Kyagulanyi tabled several reports to his bosses explaining why he lost the 2021 presidential contest and highlighting the continued detention of his party supporter.

Kyagulanyi and the National Unity Platform are allegedly being funded by the LGBT Foundation, Vanguard Africa and other individuals with interests to grab Uganda’s natural resources.

The funders are not contented with the way he used the funds during the campaign period and the explanations Kyagulanyi has given for his loss of the 2021 presidential election.  Kyagulanyi tabled to them evidence he was meant to use in court and they found it to be highly lacking.

They condemned Kyagulanyi for failing to secure bail to hundreds of his supporters with the millions of dollars they awarded him.

The evidence of alleged abductions was crosschecked and found to be inconsistent with what their security sources had. Some of the people Kyagulanyi presented as arrested members of his party were found to be criminals allegedly on Interpol watchlist on counts of terrorism.

There have been several complaints of embezzlement against Robert Kyagulanyi and his brother Fred Nyanzi by several members of the National Unity platform. In 2020, NUP diaspora leader resigned over the same issue.

Kyagulanyi has been swindling money coming from his foreign funders meant for political activities.
