Bobi Wine, also known as Robert Kyagulanyi and the President of the National Unity Platform (NUP) Party, has had to cut his UK trip short due to pressure from the gay community to fire the leader of the opposition.

According to the gay community led by Hilary Taylor, Bobi Wine should, with immediate effect, fire Leader of Opposition Matthias Mpuuga, whom they have accused of supporting the anti-homosexuality bill in spite of all the funding injected into the NUP to defend homosexuality.

“We demand that Bobi Wine fire Mpuuga; he has failed as a LOP; he defended the bill and voted in favor; this is playing double standards on their party; funding is advanced to NUP monthly for defending the human rights of LGBTQI, but its leaders are not straight forward in their dealings,” said Taylor.

Taylor also accused Bobi Wine of being two-faced in his recently released song “Man and Woman,” which deepened the controversy surrounding his true stance on homosexuality. According to Taylor, the song’s title, lyrics, timing, and his evasive answers during a BBC interview on November 30, 2023, all indicate that Bobi Wine is trying to dodge criticism.

In response, Bobi Wine called Taylor a controversial and confused young man, stating he had no authority to criticize him.

“I like my controversial friend, Taylor, he challenges me and I like people who challenge me, however, he has no right to tell me what to do,” said Bobi Wine.

Sources revealed that things intensified for Bobi Wine after the release of his song “Man and Woman” and the failed BBC interview. The gay community demanded that Bobi Wine dismiss Mpuuga and openly declare his support for homosexuality.

However, sources cautioned against blindly believing social media rumors, urging Ugandans to question Bobi Wine’s frequent trips abroad and secret meetings with gold dealers. They claimed that, while people focused on the homosexuality debates and Bobi Wine’s failed talk show, he was secretly involved in connecting gold smugglers with dealers in Karamoja to illicitly transport gold.

“While people are busy concentrating on Homosexuality discussions and Bobi Wine’s failed talk show, he is secretly connecting gold smugglers with gold dealers in Karamoja to smuggle some gold from the area,” said the source.

After returning from the UK, Bobi Wine plans to visit Karamoja under the pretext of supporting poverty eradication initiatives. However, it is believed that his true motive is to assess the gold business and recruit people into homosexuality.

Considering the above, it becomes clear that Bobi Wine’s focus has never truly been on the welfare of Ugandans. Instead, it seems he prioritizes personal gain. This raises questions about why someone claiming to fight for the greater good would deny his comrades in the struggle, as he did during the BBC interview by stating that all NUP MPs support Museveni.
