The Alliance for National Transformation Buganda Bloc (ANT-BB) has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Democratic Alliance (DA), outlining the terms and conditions for collaboration as the 2026 elections approach.

This revelation was made by Kasim Kyaze, the ANT Interim Coordinator for Kampala, on December 29, 2024, where both parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Perfect Motel in Makindye. The signing was attended by representatives including Lubowa Henry and Michael Mabike from the Democratic Alliance (DA), as well as Kasimu Kyaze, Kazibwe Bashir, Kampala Coordinator, Zerida Kakai, Interim Coordinator for Youth, and Bulega Nsubuga, Interim Coordinator for Greater Mubende, among others.

Among the terms agreed upon in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the two parties is a strong commitment to support Mathias Mpuuga as their presidential candidate for the upcoming 2026 elections.

To merge the structures of both parties from the village level to the national level and actively engage with local communities and to mobilise both financial and logistical support for the Democratic Alliance, both domestically and internationally.

According to Kyaze, their decision to join Mpuuga is driven by their belief in his potential to become the president of Uganda and emphasised that when Mpuuga invited them to the recent launch of the Democratic Alliance, they did not hesitate to accept, as they have been eagerly awaiting a strong candidate capable of challenging President Museveni during the upcoming campaign.

Kyaze added that they will mobilise all members of the change movement within ANT, even those outside Kampala, to join their cause in supporting Mpuuga and the Democratic Alliance, starting immediately.

Michael Mabike from the Democratic Alliance welcomed the ANT-BB for joining their cause and confirmed that the team will collaborate to ensure the Democratic Alliance secures presidential power in the upcoming 2026 elections.
