The Forum for Democratic Change-FDC Party has revealed a detailed campaign strategies to retake Buganda from the National Unity Platform party.

On Monday, while concluding the 2021 post-election review meeting of the Kampala sub region at Najjanankumbi, the FDC headquarters, the officials vowed to recapture Buganda sub region from NUP in the next 2026 national elections.

“I urge you to hold ground on the core objectives of the party. This will make us remain focused and united to achieve the set objective of the party. We must recapture the central region from the hands of the NUP,” said Patrick Amuriat Oboi, the FDC party president.

Amuriat described the NUP’s many numbers in parliament as a tree of many leaves without roots and a weightless sack of feathers.

Currently, the FDC party has only three Members of Parliament from the Buganda region, including Ibrahim Ssemujju of Kiira Municipality, Yusuf Nsibambi of Mawokota South and Moses Kabuusu of Kyamusawa County.

Recently, the new Minister for Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Nobert Moa, labelled the FDC and NUP as failed parties.

He called the FDC a sinking boat made out of clay, which no sober person could use to sail across the lake.

For the NUP, Mao said that critical thinkers cannot work with misguided, angry hooligans who do not listen to the opinions of others but rather want to dictate what should be said and done.

He further said that the FDC is like a power bank that is out of battery, so it can’t charge the phone and it also needs to be plugged into a power source (NRM) to be charged.
