Detective held for defiling 15-year-old in Karamoja

A police detective has been arrested in Napak district for allegedly defiling a 15-year-old girl.

The suspect has been identified as Joseph Odeke, the Officer in Charge of Criminal Investigations at Iriiri police station. 

Odeke was picked up on Sunday, according to Michael Longole, the Moroto Region Police Spokesperson. 

Longole noted that the officer allegedly defiled the victim, a pupil at Kapuwat Primary School in Iriiri Sub-County in August this year. 

He says the suspect will be arraigned in court as soon as his file is sanctioned by the state.
