Bushenyi Health Centre IV in Bushenyi District has received a donation of a brand new ultrasound scanner to help the facility in easing health service delivery.

The donation is from Rukararwe Partnership for Rural Development supported by Kronshagen, a municipality in the District of Rendsburg-Eckernförde, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.

The machine was handed over to the Bushenyi-Ishaka leaders by Mr. Johnson Bitarabeho, the chairperson of Rural Development Rukararwe at the health center.

Dr. Peter Yeeka, an in charge of the health center said that the machine has come at the right time and will end the suffering of the pregnant mothers.

Dr. Yeeka also commended Rural Development by Kronshagen in Germany for the continuous support rendered to the health center.

The In charge also noted that expectant mothers have been struggling with the charges for ultrasound scanner services which has been affecting service delivery in the District since they would be required to go for a scan in the private clinics where they are charged Ugx200, 000 which is a burden to them.

Mr. Bitarabeho said that the equipment will reduce the deaths that occur among expectant mothers.

He also argued the staff to use the equipment in a proper way such that people benefit from it.

He added that the Government is in the process of finalizing plans to increase the salaries of all health workers and this will be done in a phased manner.

The facility was elevated into a health center IV in 2010 and every month, it receives about 240 expectant mothers for antenatal services, 140 deliver normally monthly, and 30 expectant are operated.

Since 2020, the number of patients has increased from 1,000 to 1,400 by March 2022.
