Estranged National Unity Platform activist and Bobi Wine confidant Moses Bigirwa has been thrown out of his marital house by his wife Racheal after he attempted to return to their home months after he abandoned it to pursue an elective position in his home district which he later lost. In a desperate and petty move, Moses stormed his former home and engaged in a public fight with his wife and in-laws only to be separated by police and neighbors.

Racheal accuses Bigirwa of leaving her alone to fend for herself and children including those from his other affairs. Bigirwa who turned up at the Gangu, Makindye residence in the company of his brother turned violent when Racheal resisted attempts to have her evicted in the absence of authorities.

Mr Bigirwa alleges that he bought and owned the plot of land on which the house was built and therefore has rights to live and sell it off as needed. The house has since been occupied by the wife and children, however Bigirwa has fallen on hard financial times ever since he lost in the 2021 general elections. Moses also claims that his wife was involved in an affair with a statehouse operative and that’s why he wanted to resolve the marriage.

This claim by Bigirwa is however unsubstantiated as the wife still stays in the same house even when he claims she had shifted to a posh house in Bunga, a posh suburb.

Mr Moses Bigirwa, was charged before Law Development Center court (LDC) in 2019 with publication of false news when he allegedly went on Top Radio located in Kampala and allegedly said the NRM government had planned to kill Kyadondo East MP, Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine during the Arua by-election fracas the previous year.

The development raises questions on the expenditure of politicians during elections and the role of political parties in financing the activities of its flag bearers. NUP party President Bobi Wine and his brothers have been parading posh mansions on social media while his foot soldiers are barely surviving with nowhere to sleep.
