The remains of an old lady who went missing in 2023 in Mityana district have been found in a forest by a herdsman who was grazing cattle.

Her remains were discovered by a herdsman from a forest on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, in Bukulwe village, Imani Sub County, Mityana district. The deceased was identified as Deziranta Nakityo.

She went missing in 2023 after developing a mental illness. Stella Bisase, a resident, said they were alerted by the herdsman.

’’We do not know what really caused her death or whether she was just killed; however, we are happy that at least her remains have been found and she is going to be given a decent burial,’’ Bisase disclosed.

Police at Mityana CPS were informed about the incident, and the family was later allowed to proceed with the burial.
