Police in Kyotera district have arrested three suspects accused of masterminding the gruesome murder of a 53-year-old land property master.

The suspects identified as Abdul Karagwa, Wasswa Matia, and Denis Semigga were arrested on October 14, 2024, from Bugaaju Villag, Kirumba Sub County.

The suspects are accused of killing Edward Sekabira Kanyenya on October 12, 2024, and later dumped his body near his residential home.

“The deceased was attacked while returning home from a nightclub where he had been enjoying a social evening. They reportedly hit his head with a sharp object multiple times until he bled to death,” the source said.

Fred Kigozi, a resident, suspects that the deceased could have been killed because of the huge sum of money he had on him that fateful night since he had sold the land.

’’Kanyenya made a mistake due to overexcitement and told the wrong people about how he had just sold land,’’ Kigozi stated.

SP Twaha Kasirye confirmed the arrest, noting that investigations to gather more evidence are ongoing.

Police note that one of the suspects was caught in possession of the deceased telephone.
