The Parish Development Model (PDM) beneficiaries have been urged to be vigilant and conscious of conmen posing as army officers with intentions of defrauding them of their money.

Dennis Galabuzi Ssozi, the National Parish Development Model (PDM) Coordinator, while at the meeting convened at the secretariat on September 22, 2024, urged the different stakeholders from districts to report conmen who impersonate soldiers and PDM officials to defraud beneficiaries.

In the bid to combat the vice, Ssozi called upon all PDM beneficiaries to report and contact the local law enforcement or relevant authorities so that the culprits can be arrested and prosecuted.

“We are getting reports of people calling PDM beneficiaries who are earmarked to receive the money, and if you receive a strange call, don’t share personal or financial information with strangers. Anyone who commits a crime by abusing the guidelines or stealing money must be apprehended,’’ Ssozi said.

Ssozi further reminded the beneficiaries that accessing the PDM funds is completely free of charge and that no one should ask money from beneficiaries, cautioning others against such practices.

The Parish Development Model is a government strategy for organizing and delivering public and private sector interventions for wealth creation and employment generation at the parish level as the lowest economic planning unit. Which ensures support for more Ugandans to increase their demand for goods and services.
