The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has directed all the heads of centers to display the list of candidates registered for the 2024 examinations as provided for in the UNEB Act 2021, Section 4(2).

In the statement issued by UNEB on August 12, 2024, the Executive Director, Dr. Dan Odongo, stated that the list of candidates registered should be displayed in a conspicuous place at the school notice board where the candidates registered and to enable the parents to confirm the registration status of the learners.

“Parents of students studying in schools that do not have UNEB centers should establish and verify their registration from the schools or centers where they registered to confirm if they have been fully registered to avoid unfortunate scenarios where students are discovered unregistered at the start of the examination period,” Odongo stated.

He further added that if a student who has proof of payment of registration fees is not duly registered, the parents should report to UNEB immediately for action.

Relatedly, Odongo stated that UNEB provides an SMS option on mobile telephone handsets, and during the period of display, one will be required to know the full index number of the candidate.

He also emphasized that it’s the responsibility of the candidates, heads of centers, and parents to critically analyze and confirm the accuracy of the candidate’s biodata.
This year’s mandatory period of display will run from August 12 to October 11, 2024.
