President Museveni Signs 19 Bills into Law, Returns Two to Parliament

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has signed a total of 19 bills into law that were recently passed by Parliament.

According to a statement released by the Presidential Press Unit (PPU), President Museveni signed the bills on Monday, July 15th, from Nakasero State Lodge.

The bills signed into law by the President include the Uganda Wildlife Authority (Amendment) Act 2024, the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (Amendment) Act 2024, and the Registration of Persons (Amendment) Act 2024.

Others are: The Uganda Trypanosomiasis Control Council (Repeal) Act 2024; the Agricultural Chemical (Control) (Amendment) Act 2024; the Children (Amendment) Act 2024; the National Youth Council (Amendment) Act 2024; the Person with Disability (Amendment) Act 2024; the National Women’s Council (Amendment) Act 2024; and, the National Council for Older Persons (Amendment) Act 2024.

The President also signed into law the following bills: The Non-Governmental Organizations (Amendment) Act 2024, the National Library (Amendment) Act 2024, the National Planning Authority (Amendment) Act 2024, the National Population Council (Repeal) (Amendment) Acts 2024, the Physical Planning (Amendment) Act 2024, and the Value Additional Tax (Amendment) Act 2024.

The Tax Procedure Code (Amendment) Act 2024, the Stamp Duty (Amendment) Act 2024, and the Income Tax (Amendment) Act 2024.

President Museveni also returned two other bills to parliament, including the National Commission for UNESCO (Amendment) Act 2024 and the Higher Education Students Financing (Amendment) Act 2024.
