The Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who is also the Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Operations, delivered a lecture of opportunity to officer cadets and urged them to employ a servant leadership approach, empathy, humility, and understanding of the feelings of the troops they lead.

He said that servant leadership is a powerful approach when handling troops, adding that it can potentially create a positive change in the military through acts of exemplary service.

“Human beings are inspired by one’s actions; leadership is not about being perfect; it is about continuous growth,” Gen. Kainerugaba said.

He made these remarks on May 9, 2024, while delivering a lecture to cadets of intake 18/long at the Basic Military Training School, Kaweweta, Nakaseke District.

He advised the officer cadets to always prioritise the welfare of their troops, support them when they are faced with challenges, and seek self-improvement.

“Always seek self-improvement, and do not be afraid to admit mistakes and learn from others,” he added.

Present at the lecture were Commandant Basic Military Training School, Kaweweta, Brigadier General Bonny Geoffrey Wolimbwa, senior officers, and instructors of the Basic Military Training School, Kaweweta.
