The Directorate of Criminal Intelligence (DCI) detectives in Nairobi city have gunned down two gangsters who have been terrorising residents of Kibra areas.

According to the DCI detectives, on November 22, 2023, during a stealth operation, they came face-to-face with the criminals, and a fire exchange ensued, leading to the deaths of the gangsters and the recovery of a Beretta pistol.

“The suspects, only identified as Rundo and Mulinyo, were secretly pursued by our undercover agents following intelligence reports by concerned members of the public about their dealings in the area,” said DCI detectives.

DCI noted that, once their team was in pursuit of the criminals, one of the thugs started shooting indiscriminately at the officers, who were alert and responded promptly, putting out of action the duo.

According to the DCI team, seven spent cartridges, four bullet heads, and six rounds of 9mm ammunition were recovered alongside the side firearm, and the bodies were taken to the city mortuary for further identification.
