The President of the Republic of Uganda, H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, presented the Exemplary Service Order 1st Class medal to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Esq. JM Okoth Ochola.
Ochola was among ten other distinguished officers who received this award on Monday, October 9, 2023, during the 61st Independence Day celebrations in Kitgum District.
He was recognised for his outstanding leadership, community involvement, efforts to promote peace, transforming the Uganda Police Force’s reputation, and unwavering dedication to the organization’s goals.
In addition to that, ten other officers were recognised and commended for their exceptional contributions. These officers include:
AIGP Christopher Damulira, the director of Crime Intelligence, and AIGP James Ochaya, the Director of Research Planning and Development at the Uganda Police. They were awarded the Exemplary Service Order 2nd Class for their outstanding service throughout their tenure.
Moses Balimoyo, a retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP), was awarded the Centenary Medal.
AIGP Elizabeth Kitesa received the Distinguished Service Medal, while AIGP Twaruhukwa Erasmus was acknowledged for their long service and exemplary conduct.
CP Diana Kyasiimire Bugondo was awarded the Silver Medal, while SSP Doreen Tumwebaze received the Meritorious Service Medal.
ASP Hilda Kwarisiima was honoured with the Gallantry Star Medal, while Corporal Siragi Mulabanaku was presented with the Personal Sacrifice Medal.
Rose Laticia Ndagano was honoured with the Honorary Medal for her remarkable contributions.
