Cpl. Peter Avugo of the Mountain Division Signal Department, who was assigned to the Air Force Evacuation Component, has been found guilty by a seven-member tribunal. Avugo was found guilty of murder on two counts and attempted murder on five counts. The allegations come from an event in which Avugo shot and murdered two of his coworkers and injured several others.

The two military men, Private Richard Anyoro and Senior Sergeant Albert Tony Ochen, were shot and died in a terrible incident that occurred on the night of July 14, 2023.

The UPDF court martial has charged him at Muhoti Barracks in Fort Portal’s Kabarole district.

Avugo, on the other hand, pleaded not guilty to all allegations.

The UPDF condoled with the bereaved families and condemned Cpl. Avugo’s actions.
