Brigadier General Felix Busizoori, the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) third division deputy commander, visited the 403Bde HQ, located in Matanyi Sub-County, Napak District, on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, to check on the status of the ongoing construction projects for housing units.
Brig. Gen. Busizoori commended the progress of the construction of the housing units.
“I am pleased with the work’s progress, and its completion will meet the intended objectives,” said Brig. Gen. Busizoori.
Major Kizito Mulwana, the site engineer who also serves as the Regiment Commander (RCO) for the third Construction Regiment, remarked that the work is rated at 90% and near completion.
“At the project site, six blocks each with four self-contained housing units were constructed and completed by the Special Forces Command (SFC) Civil Engineering Regiment, while the ongoing construction of nine blocks each with four self-contained housing units is being undertaken by the 3 Construction Regiment, which is nearing completion,” said Mulwana.
The third Division Deputy Commander was accompanied by the Brigade Commander and key staff officers during the inspection.
The UPDF’s strategic leadership launched the construction project in June 2022 as a response to the force’s accommodation problem.
