UPDF confirms Gen Kale Kayihura, nine other Generals set for retirement

The Uganda Peoples Defence Forces has confirmed that the Former Inspector General of Police, Gen. Kale Kayihura is among the nine other Generals lined up to retire from the force this month. Kayihura, a four-star General, is the most senior of the ten retiring senior military officers. The UPDF Deputy Spokesperson, Col. Deo Akiiki said whoever is asking about the status of Gen Kayihura should know that he is set to retire this month.

“What I can confirm is that the General will be among the 10 Generals to retire from the UPDF. We wish the General the best of his retirement time and we shall always consult him as one of the mentors of most of us remaining in active service,” Col Akiiki said.
