Although the Uganda Lacrosse Cranes conceded an 18-0 loss to Japan, the team remains determined to keep the candle burning ahead of its game with Denmark on Monday, June 26, 2023, in the ongoing World Lacrosse Men’s Championship in San Diego.
In a pleasant display against France on Saturday, the Lacrosse Cranes managed to check France’s nets, but they could not withstand the strong pressure from the French side, hence succumbing to a 13-5 loss.
Despite Uganda’s consecutive blows, the team remains determined to develop as a unit, gaining incredible experience to shine brighter in future lacrosse matches.
“We truly perceive ourselves as a developing team, and our prime objective is to continually improve as a collective unit,” said head coach Patrick Oriana after the match.
In this year’s World Lacrosse Men’s Championship, Uganda is representing the entire African continent, marking Uganda’s third participation in the tournament.
This came after Uganda dominated the game against Kenya, securing a spot in the championship.
For the previous championships, like in 2014 and 2018, the Uganda Lacrosse Cranes finished 33rd and 40th respectively.
