They drop trash on the streets and despise those who clean up the streets, they will complain of dirty Kampala yet they are the very ones who dirt the city. They will abuse traffic rules and complain when charged by the traffic Officer; they will be quick to offer a bribe because they cannot endure the cost of discipline. They like to jump queues, cannot simply to stand and wait their turn. They are last minute people, it is until the last minute that people will wake up to rush and renew their IDS, it is when they have a flight to catch that they will think of renewing their passports.
When it rains, they will arrive at work late, excuse; it rained in the morning. When it rains in the afternoon, they will leave work early to beat the traffic jam. They will appear late for meetings without apology and fail to keep appointments. They will show up late for church service, they had to sleep in a little.
Ugandans do not want to work hard, they want the already finished product, the young girls will date older men because they have everything they need right from the posh cars to expensive outfit and a lavish lifestyle. The young men will involve themselves in get rich schemes so as the make money and have a name on social media. They want to reap where they have not sown.
Very few will think of gainful employment, the patience to grow on job with the meager salary. They despise experience; they want to get there in the quickest way possible. That is why most of them have died young, wrecked people’s homes and lost self respect in the process.
Then we dream of taking over the world, with this mentality?? Our dreams are still very far from us if we do not change our ways. We shall die young in pursuit of our dreams because we even lack the basic patience to wait on the dream better still even dream.
