A total of 11 senior police bosses are in trouble for allegedly engaging in various acts of indiscipline within the force.

According to a source, the officers have been referred to the Police Standards Unit for further investigations and management.

It is alleged that the officers engaged in several acts that violated human rights while implementing their duties.

The trouble for the officers including SP Kanyesigye Jamal, the D/RPC, and SP Bagoole Michael, the DPC of Buvuma, among others, stemmed from the recent clash between the security and Buvuma Woman MP Mugabi Susan Nakaziba and her supporters.

MP Mugabi and her supporters reportedly engaged in a clash with security being accused of holding an unlawful gathering at Kyanja village, Bweema sub-county in Buvuma district, on Wednesday, April 19, 2023.

According to the source, MP Mugabi reportedly ignored the directive of the district security committee, blocking their gathering.

SCP Fred Enanga, the police Spokesperson, said the IGP, Martin Okoth Ochola, has ordered the PSU to institute inquiries and ensure officers involved in the operations are held accountable.

“As a result, we have summoned the 11 officers, who have also been removed from their duties, to report to the PSU Headquarters for further investigations,” Enanga said.

The summoned officers include SP Kanyesigye Jamal, SP Bagoole Michael, DPC Buvuma, AIP Odeke Francis, CPL Wamanga David, PC Obalim, PC Turyahebwa Akim, PC Ahamize Brave, PC Olari Albert John, PC Egwel Peter Aggrey, PC Kabaheka Benson, and PC Makomeli Emma Kevin.

SCP Enanga said that the police fraternity condones any acts of torture, and any officer caught in the act will be held accountable.
