πΊπ¬ IGG warns public officers over wealth declaration non-compliance
πThe Inspector General of Government (IGG) Olive Beti Kamya has warned public servants over wealth declaration non-compliance. Kamya made the warning while meeting with the political and technical leaders in Arua City. According to Kamya, the wealth declaration compliance level at Arua City stands at 75%, while for Arua District stands at 70%. She warned that those who failed to declare their wealth as required by the law, risked being summoned or punished for non-compliance.

πChurch of Uganda Archbishop His Grace the Rt. Rev. Samuel Kazimba Mugalu has urged fathers who have shunned their responsibilities in families to repent and support their wives and children whom they abandoned. Kazimba, whose preaching on Easter Sunday focused on the Biblical verse of Matthew 26:14, referred to men as Juda Iscariots who betray their supposed lifetime souls whom they marry for love and commitment.
π Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar to visit Uganda
πIndiaβs External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will embark on a three-day visit to Uganda to explore ways to expand India’s ties with Uganda. The Minister will visit Uganda from April 10-12 and he is expected to hold delegation-level talks with his counterpart General Jeje Odongo. Mr. Jaishankar will also inaugurate a transit campus of the National Forensic Science University (NFSU) in Jinja.

πOne person has been admitted to Lira Regional Referral Hospital in Lira City after a car crushed her leg during the Ecumenical Way of the Cross in Lira City on Good Friday.Β The victim identified as Lucy Okello, a resident of Kirombe ward, West Division in Lira CityΒ had her right foot completely crushed by a vehicle at Odokomit roundabout on the Kamdini-Lira highway after she reportedly missed a step during the walk and her foot found its way under a slowly moving vehicle.
πΊπ¬ Police recover pangas from gang in GayazaΒ
πPolice has recovered pangas from suspected criminals in Gayaza Trading Centre, Kasangati Town Council, Wakiso District during an operation. ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson said they arrested five suspects identified as Charles Kawoya, 17, Akiram Sekubuge, 23, Enock Mwesigwa, 32, Denis Sagara, 27, Ivan Mwanja, 31 and Rachael Nekesa, 29. Police recovered eight sharpened pangas, six pit axes, five spanners, two motorcycles and a box containing nails.

πKenya Power Ltd on Sunday carried out a planned maintenance that caused a blackout at Wilson Airport in Nairobi County and its environs. π DRC: ADF kills around 20 in eastern region
πIslamic State on Saturday claimed responsibility for an attack on Musandaba, a village on the outskirts of Beni, in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo that authorities said killed around 20 people. The FADRC spokesman in the North Kivu region where the attack took place, Anthony Mwalushay, said the assailants believed to be terrorists of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) who used machetes βto avoid confrontation with the army.β
