πŸ“ŒRt Rev Onesmus Asiimwe has Sunday been consecrated the 6th Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese at Emmanuel Cathedral in Kinyasano, Rukungiri Municipality.Β  The consecration ceremony was led by the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda Dr Samuel Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu, and the former archbishop Henry Luke Orombi who was the day’s preacher. Vice President Jessica Alupo represented President Yoweri Museveni who is on a three-day State visit in Algeria.

πŸ“Œ Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, The Most Rev Dr Stephen Samuel Kazimba Mugalu has challenged christians of North Kigezi Diocese, led by the newly consecrated Bishop Onesmus Asiimwe, to engage in meaningful income generating projects for sustainability of Church ministry and programs. Archbishop Kazimba made the remarks on Sunday while presiding over the consecration and enthronement of Rt Rev Asiimwe as the 6th Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese at Emmanuel Cathedral, Kinyasano in Rukungiri Municipality.
“The Church should remain a transformational institution and exploit more opportunities as we serve the community. I thank the Government of Uganda for the mutual partnership in bringing services to the people of Uganda,” said Kazimba.
President Museveni, in his message read by Vice President Jessica Alupo, commended the Church of Uganda for its commitment to teach people on how to improve their livelihoods and contribute to the development of the church and the country at large. He rallied all the christians to support the new Bishop to develop the Diocese.
