The President made the remarks while presiding over the 37th National Liberation Day Celebrations at Kakeeka grounds in Kakumiro Town Council on Thursday January 26, 2023.
“I congratulate some government agencies. I have seen people who had stolen PDM and Emyooga money being arrested or being forced to refund the money. — A party like the NRM is not a party of a tribe or religion, it’s a national political party. That’s why we win in the first round; we have never gone for the second round,” the President said.

πŸ“Œ The United Kingdom High Commissioner to Kenya Jane Marriott on Wednesday said that Kenyans applying for a visa to the United Kingdom will now wait three weeks under the new adjustments on visa processing duration. UK has resolved backlog issues which caused delays in visa processing since July last year, in the backdrop of the Covid-19 pandemic.

🌍 MALAWI: Cholera death toll passes 1,000 as outbreak spreads
πŸ“ŒThe Malawi Health Minister Khumbize Chiponda on Wednesday said that the death toll from a Cholera outbreak in the country has passed 1,000 while cases have risen to 30,621, the highest on record in the country. Chiponda added that most of the deaths occurred in the two main cities of Lilongwe and Blantyre where children went back to classes after schools had delayed opening in a bid to contain the spread.
β€œThe cumulative confirmed cases and deaths since the onset of the outbreak is 30,621 and 1,002, respectively with a case fatality rate at 3.27%,” Chiponda said.
