📌Vehicle dealers, Victoria Motors, yesterday handed over the first batch of seven Renault Trucks to EnviroServ Uganda, a waste management services company to manage all the waste generated during the drilling activities at Tilenga oilfields found in Buliisa and Nwoya districts. The trucks were handed over at an event held at the Victoria Motors assembling yard on 5th Street Industrial Area in Kampala.

📌 The greater Bushenyi region Police spokesperson, Martial Tumusiime revealed that a primary school teacher, Mpagi Yusufu, 43, who is also a religious leader (Sheikh) has been arrested by Police in Sheema district after he was accused of allegedly defiling a 9-year-old girl in a mosque near Itendero Primary School, where the perpetrator teaches.

📌 According to the Traffic Police spokesperson, ASP Faridah Nampiima, a total of 1,021 Boda Boda riders were killed in a period between January and September in various accidents on Ugandan roads. “Whereas we had 1021 riders killed in accidents, we also had 401 passengers killed in these accidents,” Nampiima said.

📌Government of Uganda together with the World Bank partners have set aside Ugx15b for the construction of Iganga Modern main market come June next year. 📌The Government of Uganda is seeking to borrow 500 million euros (about Shs2 trillion) to fund its budget through international creditors, including a Eurobond. According to a letter written by Finance Minister Matia Kasaija, the government is inviting possible lenders to structure medium-term and long-term financing, including a possible Eurobond issue, a debt instrument that’s denominated in a currency other than the home currency of the country or market in which it is issued.

📌Residents in Kibuku District are in fear after unknown people raided multiple graves at different homes and exhumed human remains in Bukamugewo Parish, Buseta Sub County. According to police, the tomb raiders took only human skulls, leaving behind other parts of bodies mostly buried over four years ago. Local authorities suspect that traditional healers might be behind the incident.

📌The Vice President, Ms. Jessica Alupo commended the army for managing to keep the warriors under check from raiding animals in Katakwi District. Mid this year, the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) deployed additional forces in Katakwi and areas of Kapelebyong District following a spike in cattle raids by suspected warriors from Karamoja Sub-region. Ms Alupo, who is also the Woman MP for Katakwi, made the remarks on Saturday while handing over a Shs317 million grain bulking centre constructed by the Islamic Development Bank for Ongongoja Fruit Farmers’ Cooperative Society.

📌Police in Amudat district is holding three suspects in connection to the strangulation of a UPDF deserter to death for allegedly failing to clear her bar bill. The deceased has been identified as Lorisa Cheporoke, who met her death on Sunday night in Multasukan village, Loppedot parish, Abilyep sub-county in Amudat district. Micheal Longole, the Mt. Moroto Regional police spokesperson explains that “the deceased went to a bar within the village to drink and left without clearing the bills, prompting the son of the bar owner to follow and strangle her to death.

📌Leaders in Sigulu Islands Sub-county revealed that there are still elements of residents still engaging in illegal fishing. This followed the arrest of Mr. Okello Mathias with immature Nile perch at Rabolo village in Lolwe East parish. Residents alleged that two boats full of immature fish are smuggled every day in collusion with some elements in AFALU and FPU to Marenga beach in Kenya
