We Can Resolve Our Internal Issues- Museveni To Un Security Council Five Permanent Representatives

President Yoweri Museveni has renewed his call for African solutions for African problems in solving internal conflicts without interference from external forces.

On Tuesday, while meeting the five permanent representatives of the United National Security Council at State House Entebbe, President Museveni reiterated Africa’s ability to solve African problems through strategic security.

The meeting that was attended by four other non-permanent member states saw several security issues discussed and resolved including the ongoing UPDF, FARDC operations against ADF rebels in Eastern DR Congo.

“I also opined that intervention in the African States by external forces if it must happen should take a TRINITY pattern: 1- Let them first solve their issues Internally, 2- Let them get help Regionally and if it fails 3- International intervention,” President shared on his official twitter handled on Tuesday.

Some of the conflicts that saw International interventions include the ousting and subsequent murder of Libyan former President Colonel Muammar Gaddafi on October, 24th 2011.

His removal was prominently backed by the then US Barack Obama administration.

Another President that was also ousted with the help of foreign countries in the West include, Omar Hassan Ahmad al-Bashir former, former President of Sudan, currently awaiting trial at the Hague based International Criminal Court in Netherlands.

In all the above government overthrow in Africa backed by foreign forces, no solution for the problems raised has been achieved but instead worsened situations leading to suffering of people and loss of lives.
