As sporting in Uganda takes shape, the Uganda Volleyball Federation Association (UVF) has embarked on training all the volleyball coaches in the Eastern region centering at Kumi University.
The three day coaching course starting from today 16th to 18th of September 2022 is intended to polish and boost the capacity of coaches and managers of volleyball in the region.
This comes as a response to the letter dated 8th September 2022 and addressed to the Technical Director, Uganda Volleyball Federation from Eastern Uganda volleyball Association requesting for volleyball coaching course.
“We are requesting the Federation to facilitate the Chairperson Technical UVF to come and conduct the above-mentioned course on 16th to 18th Sept 2022, at Kumi University,” the letter read.
According to Mr. Tony Peter Lakony, the technical director Uganda Volleyball Federation also the head of coaches’ commission, the course will boost and advance the capacity of coaches and managers of Volleyball in the region.
The course will be mainly facilitated by Mr. Tonny Peter Lakony and Mr. Tom Mpuuja Mutebi who are at level 3 which is the highest level in coaching.
Tom Mpuuja Mutebi is a former national team coach, Talent Identification Expert, and Level 3 Coach.
According to the UVF, the move has started in the Eastern region but the federation has plans to extend it to the other regions of the country in order to foster a positive change in the arena of volleyball.
