The Chief of Staff-Land Force, Brig Gen Michael Kabango, has cautioned the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) officers against engaging in corruption practices. He implored the officers to be patriotic, emphasizing the importance of ideological training in helping personal discipline and understanding the country’s history and future.

Brig Gen Kabango made the remarks on Friday, August 2, 2024, at the Oliver Reginald Tambo Leadership School and Pan African Centre of Excellence (ORTLS-PACEX)-Kaweweta in Nakaseke district, during the pass-out ceremony for junior officers who finished the Post-Cadet Ideological Course Intake 8/24.

In his address, Brig Gen Kabango urged the officers to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the course, which he said will guide them in their future deployments.

The Commandant of the Basic Military Training School-Kaweweta (BMTS), Brig Gen Bonny Wolimbwa, urged the officers to take keen interest in their work.

Col Justus Rukundo, the Commandant of the Oliver Reginald Tambo School of Leadership and Pan-African Centre of Excellence Training-Kaweweta, commended the officers for their excellent behavior and reminded them that success depends on putting their health first.

Several senior officers from the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) attended the occasion.
