The Executive Director of Uganda National Examination Board( UNEB), Dan N. Odongo, issued a circular addressed to all heads of UCE, UACE centres and all candidates of 2023 UCE and UACE, on the submission of course work scores that are to be done electronically, starting August 15, 2023, and ending September 30, 2023.
“The Board shall receive the coursework assessment scores for terms two and three of senior three and senior five of 2022 and term one and two of candidate classes four and six of 2023,” the statement read in part.
According to Odongo, submission of coursework scores shall be done electronically via the UNEB portal starting August 15, 2023, and ending September 30, 2023. Late submissions shall attract a surcharge of 50,000 UGX per student.
“The board shall not receive coursework scores after October 15, 2023. Any candidate without coursework scores in the subject or paper where it is a requirement shall not be graded,” Odongo said.
He added that any candidate who transfers to another centre for whatever reason must ensure that all their coursework assessment scores are made available at the centre they transfer to.
UNEB introduced the coursework assessment scores to reduce overreliance on the final exam scores to gauge academic performance, and to also make sure students acquire the necessary competencies.
