Ugandans to receive south African visas on arrival

The long standing frustration suffered by Ugandans applying for south African visas is set to be a thing of the past after the intervention of President Yoweri Museveni.

This follows social media uproar from Ugandans who said that they were being unfairly treated by south African authorities culminating in major show down in which Ugandan officials were denied entry into south Africa ahead of the Indaba tourism expo where Uganda was eventual gold winner.

President Museveni in a statement on Twitter said that, “I also received a goodwill message from His Excellency Cyril Ramaphosa, who has taken interest in resolving the unnecessary bureaucracy Ugandans are subjected to when seeking South African visas. Ugandans should get visas on entry in South Africa just as we do with them here”.

President Museveni also took the opportunity to congratulate Minister Ephraim Kamuntu and Team Uganda for the fete at a dinner in State House Entebbe.

Uganda maintains strong trade and bilateral relations and the two nations look set to move away from the state of affairs that had threatened to distort this relationship.
