Uganda to Play Ethiopia in Two Friendlies Ahead Of Chan Qualifiers

Uganda Cranes is set to play Ethiopia in two friendlies starting on 19th August 2022 and they meet again on the 21st of this month in Adama city in the central region of Ethiopia.

This has come at the same time when Uganda Cranes is in its preparations to stretch legs with their neighbor Tanzania in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) Qualifiers.

According to sources, Uganda will face Tanzania in the first leg on 28th August at Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium while the return leg will be played on 3rd September at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

The dual friendly matches between Uganda Cranes and Ethiopia will act as a checkpoint and a wake-up call to the team in order to hold ground against Tanzania.

 “From the 25th of July when we started preparations, I believe we have done a good job considering players were coming from the off-season,” Cranes head coach confirmed.

The Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin Sredojevic Micho said we now have to engage a polishing aspect and on Thursday, we shall be flying to Ethiopia where the team will play two friendly matches on Friday and Sunday.

Of the ten Vipers SC players who have been summoned, five of them will join the Cranes before flying to Ethiopia on Thursday 28th August 2022.

The Uganda Cranes players will move immediately to Zanzibar to wait for the actual battle with Tanzania.

Uganda is expected to arrive at Benjamin Mkapa national stadium on 28th August 2022 where it will battle with Tanzania in the first leg then meet at St Mary’s stadium Kitende on 3rd September 2022 to break the ice.
