UGANDA QUALIFIES FOR U-12, U-18 BASEBALL WORLD CUP

Uganda U-12 and U-18 National Baseball teams have qualified to the Baseball World Cups after successful qualifiers held at Gilgil in Nakuru county in Kenya from 24th-29th January 2023.

According to the organizers, the qualification came after Uganda nailed her neighbor Kenya 11-2,5-1in the U-12 event. Uganda did not spare Tanzania too as it also conceded 18-1 and 13-2.

In the game at Gilgil, Uganda’s Jagwe Wazil and Musa Bogere earned Most Valuable Players (MVP) honors as Kenya finished second with two wins against her sister Tanzania.

The pearl of Africa became the 8th country to qualify for the XXI U-18 Baseball World Cup and the only Africa’s representative.

According to the organizers, the WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup will take place between 28 July to 6 August 2023 at Tainan’s Asia-Pacific International Baseball Stadium in Chinese Taipei.

And the tournament will have 12 teams from their respective continental championships or through a wild card.
