Uganda Is Secure for Your Festive Season Holiday Destination

On Tuesday 16th November, 2021 in Kampala, two suicide bombings claimed the lives of 3 innocent Ugandans and injured 36 others. Four of the attackers also died in the attacks.

Security agencies have since intensified operations to hunt down the perpetrators and called upon Ugandans and visitors to take collective efforts and help in defeating the terror threats.

Irrespective of the current threats and panic caused by the bomb blasts to undermine our security, Uganda is still safe and a secure destination for your holiday most especially this festive season. All you need is to be alert and follow the security guidelines that will be put in place by the Uganda police force.

Government also continues to put in place strategies that will keep everyone in the country or coming into the country more safe and secure.

Checkpoints: Public commercial buildings for offices and trading are encouraged to ensure there are check points being manned by professional security officers. The checkpoints are for protecting the buildings and occupants.

Stay alert: While the security agencies are doing their best to keep everyone safe and secure, fighting terrorism isn’t the monopoly of the security forces. It is also our corrective responsibility as citizens to help them in fighting the threat.

Police and other sister security agencies have always encouraged individuals to report any suspicious or abandoned objects like bags, boxes and individuals suspected to be terror suspects to the authorities for quick response.

The Government of Uganda is also working with neighboring countries to deal with the terrorists operating from outside the country.

To Ugandans and our visitors, our security agencies are in the pursuit of terrorists, their agents and collaborators to help prevent the re-occurrence of such acts of domestic terror.

Continue to support security agencies to keep everyone safe.
