She Cranes Defeat Malawi during Their Last Group B Game at the Commonwealth Games

Uganda Netball National Team, the She Cranes defeated Malawi 56-43 during their last group B games. The game was played at NEC Area at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham yesterday 4th August, 2022.

According to the organizing committee, the She Cranes dominated all the four quarters of the game, winning the first quarter 14-11 and by half time the team had extended they lead 28-24.

In the third quarter, coach Mugerwa made a change, replacing Margret Baagala with Jesca Achan, extending their lead by 8 goals, 41-33.

In the final quarter a double substitution was made as Peace Proscovia and Norah Lunkusa came in for Mary Nuba and Stella Oyella respectively to claim the victory for the She Cranes of the Pearl of Africa.

The She cranes have won three out of the five matches. Uganda also defeated Northern Ireland 63-26 and Trinidad and Tobago 62-28.

However, the She cranes lost their opening games against New Zealand and England.

The Uganda Netball National Team will be playing South Africa today for the fifth place play off.
