The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Tanzanian referees to handle the first leg of the women’s Olympic qualifier game between Uganda Crested Cranes and Rwanda She-Amavubi, scheduled for today, July 12, 2023.
Jonesia Rukyaa Kabakama has been appointed centre referee and will be assisted by Charles Janet Balama and Glory John Tesha as first and second assistants, respectively. Nuru Tatu Malogo will be the fourth official, while Lukusa Kanjinga is the referees’ assessor.
Uganda will face Rwanda in the first leg of the 2024 Paris Women’s Olympic Football Tournament Qualifiers at Kigali Pele Stadium because it failed to present a stadium that meets the set of CAF standards.
The second leg will take place on July 16, 2023, in the same stadium, with Rwanda serving as the hosts. The aggregate winner will advance to the second round of the qualifiers, where they will play Cameroon.
Recently, the Minister of Education and Sports visited Mandela National Stadium, the home of the Crested Cranes, and said that the renovation plan is extensive and that completion of the stadium will be in November 2023.
