Singer Eddy Kenzo Pleads to the State He Rubbished as ‘Volongoto’ for Redress Over Personal Woes

Not long ago, artiste Edirisa Musuuza aka Eddie Kenzo, composed a song titled “system volongoto”. The song literally translates to a broken system in English.

It was aimed at the ruling NRM government and was critical of its progress and governance.

The song was another in a line of songs released by people power leaning musicians aimed at discrediting the government and building support for the opposition.

Fast forward and the volongoto singer got embroiled in a public spat with his ex girlfriend Rema Nama kula. The two engaged in a bitter social media war that threatened the mental stability of the singer.

After countless cries out to the public, the singer approached State House for help in his family affairs.

He was duly advised to refrain from insulting Muslim cleric sheikh Muzaata and staying off social media for the time being.

This public admission by the singer that he had to run to the State that he so much criticized is a typical case of the chickens coming home to roost.

The President has in the past made many efforts to reach out to Uganda musicians and has been criticized by some for his efforts.

People like Bobi Wine are not in position to lead the music industry more so the country.

The public should use this example as a learning opportunity to respect elders and try to listen to what they offer.

Insults are not the way to go. They don’t solve real life problems. Eddie Kenzo is a testament to this. The rest should take note and learn to behave.
