Prime Minister Nabbanja to Receive Global Inspiration Leadership Award at UN Assembly

Prime Minister Robbina Nabbanja is set to receive the Global Inspiration Leadership Award at the Global Power Women Conference where she will also deliver a keynote speech as one of the world’s leading women.

The award ceremony will take place during the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA79) in New York City. Prime Minister Nabbanja will also represent President Yoweri Museveni during the assembly, which began on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. The high-level general debate starts on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.

The Global Inspiration Leadership Award honors female leaders, including heads of government, deputy heads, business leaders, senior government officials, and first ladies who have shown excellent leadership and made significant contributions to their countries and communities.

According to Uganda’s permanent representative to the UN, Ambassador Adonia Ayebare, Prime Minister Nabbanja will also hold meetings with other leaders to promote Uganda’s development goals.

The United Nations General Assembly is one of the six principal organs of the United Nations, serving as its main deliberative, policymaking, and representative organ. Comprising all Member States, it provides a unique forum for multilateral discussion of the full spectrum of international issues covered by the Charter of the United Nations.
