President Museveni Applauds NRM’s Role in Boosting Uganda’s Industrial Sector

President Museveni has hailed the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) for its contribution towards the flourishing industrial sector in Uganda.

According to the president, NRM’s well-executed policy decisions have immensely improved the industrial sector.

He said this while commissioning factories at Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) in Sino Uganda, Mbale Industrial Park, on Thursday, August 24, 2023.

“Today I commissioned 16 factories and made a groundbreaking for another 9, bringing the total to 25,” President Museveni said.

He also noted that the site where the factories sit was just a bush a few years ago, but it now boasts a labour force of 2000 within 36 factories.

The president said the development is a result of good policies paired with the appeal of the regional market, which has drawn a lot of investors.

“The government has created a conducive environment that has attracted a huge number of investors to Uganda,” he added.

He continued by promising investors a healthy market for their goods, including the 46 million people who call Uganda home, the 130 million people who live in East Africa, and the 1.5 billion Africans as a whole.

President Museveni commended NRM members for their dedication to the party’s objectives and vision.
