Today, Wednesday 23rd November 2022 at around 4am, a Police officer on duty foiled an attempted attack on Nakulabye Police station.  The Police station almost came under attack after an unidentified armed person approached the Police station from the western wing, but the Police officer on duty spotted him and acted first by discharging bullets at the assailant forcing the attacker to flee leaving behind an AK47 and a Magazine with five rounds of ammunition.

The guard on duty called and alerted his bosses who sent in a team of investigators. The investigators with the help of canines, combed the area for leads, but no successful leads were found.

However, according to ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson, investigations into the matter are still ongoing with the help of CCTV cameras, to try and identify the attacker and their movements.

“Police will stop at nothing to get this attacker, our team of investigators is combing all the neighboring areas for clues,” said Oweyesigyire.

The Police officer on duty has been commended for his alertness.

In the recent past, Police stations have been attacked by unknown persons, so Police officers on duty and off duty are urged to stay vigilant at all times to fence off random attacks, should there be such attacks.
