Police impounds motor vehicles, bikes for violating Ebola lock-down directives

A total of 28 motor vehicles and 222 motor bikes have been impounded by the police in Mubende and Kasanda districts for violating Presidential directives on Ebola Virus Disease.

On Saturday, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni put the two districts under lock-down in a bid to curb down the infection.

Fred Enanga, the Police Spokesperson on Monday said that the impounded motor vehicles and bikes were impounded during various operations conducted by security following the lockdown.

Enanga made the statement during the weekly press briefing held at Naguru Police Headquarters.

“Two days into the lockdown, 28 motor vehicles and 222 motorcycles have been impounded in the two districts while enforcing the Ebola lockdown directives,”Enanga said.

He cautioned people against violating the Presidential directives.

Enanga urged security officers in the two districts to continue sensitising local people about the benefits of these Presidential measures.
