Police have explained why they blocked the National Unity Platform -NUP Principal Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine from holding rallies in Mbale and Lira last week.

On Friday last week, Kyagulanyi was blocked from accessing Bugishu Cooperative Union (BCU) radio station in Mbale and even holding campaign meetings in Sironko and Mbale districts.

Fred Enanga, the Police Spokesperson says that Kyagulanyi and his party have intentions of tarnishing police image by creating scenarios that could attract police to injure people.

He further says that no public assembly is yet to be allowed in regards to the Ministry of Health Covid-19 guidelines noting that police won’t give chance for any politician to continue with such unlawful gatherings which would spread the corona virus.
